MKTG 381: Group Assignment #1: Using Secondary Data: Citations & Resource Management

Citations and Research Management

Citations and References

Please use the APA Style for citing sources along with footnotes. Footnotes are more accessible for time-pressed executives because all of the source information is at the bottom of the page, near the “footer”. This saves the executive time because they won’t have to flip (or scroll) to the end of a report to see the source information.

Using Footnotes

Most word processing software has an “insert footnote” function available. (See videos below)

  • In Word, it is under the “references” tab.
  • In Google Docs it is under the “insert” tab.
Zotero

Zotero is a powerful resource management tool supported by Western Libraries. You to collect, manage, and cite sources from databases and websites. It's fairly easy to use, connects to your web browser and word processor where you do your work, and best of all it's free.

Zotero allows you to attach PDFs, notes and images to your citations, organize them into collections for different projects, and create bibliographies. You can also create group folders, allowing you to share resources with other.

Western Libraries' Zotero page has instructions on how to install and set up Zotero along with video tutorials on different ways to use Zotero.
