You have found the Library Guide for Diversity Resources at Western Libraries. Here you will find resources and library materials devoted to exploring diverse worldviews and perspectives. Western Libraries has made a commitment to serve all students, staff, and faculty by providing useful information in an accessible venue.
The Western Libraries are committed to diversity: in the resources we provide to the Western community, the access and services we provide to our users, and in the people we hire. We are committed to having our staff reflect the makeup of the community. We strive to recruit and retain people of color and people with diverse backgrounds who improve the richness of our experience so that we can better serve our diverse users. We also frequently host exhibits and programs which celebrate diversity. We hope to explore additional ways of supporting the University’s diversity efforts and provide students at Western with the opportunity to explore diverse experiences and backgrounds in ways that enhance their education.
We have created this library guide to provide resources that we hope will sponsor further inquiry. If you have suggestions for improvement or other feedback, please feel free to contact Rebecca Marrall, the Diversity & Disability Services Librarian at Western Libraries. In the meantime, please visit the following LibGuides to learn more:
"Distinctions in Diversity" is the Western Libraries' Diversity Committee's quarterly newsletter. Designed to keep our personnel and the Western Community up-to-date on our work, the newsletter will provide short overviews of our multiple projects. Feel free to check it out!
