Databases

The following databases will help you find articles related to film and television.  Pro tip: you can search MLA Bibliography, Communication and Mass Media Complete, and Academic Search complete all at once by clicking on Choose Databases at the top of the screen when you are in any one of these databases. 

The MLA Bibliography is focused on literature and related disciplines.  You will mostly find scholarly articles in this database.

Communication and Mass Media Complete is focused on Communications and Public Relations, among other areas.  This is also primarily a scholarly article database.

Academic Search Complete is a general database.  Here, you'll find some scholarly articles as well as newspaper and magazine articles.

You can use OneSearch to find eBooks related to film and television.  Go to Advanced Search (from the link above) and enter your search terms.  On the right, choose eBooks under Material Type.

Internet Sources

The following web sources can be useful.  The first two may be new to you, while the others are likely familiar.  

Variety is the classic go-to place for reporting and reviews for film, television, and theatre (and some music)

If your project involves any historical element, Lantern is an amazing resource for classic movie magazines and other archival sources
