On March 24th, Western Libraries transitioned to the new EBSCO user interface. All EBSCOhost databases—including ebooks hosted on EBSCO— transitioned to the new interface and provide access to the same content as the former interface, EBSCOhost Classic. The new interface includes features such as enhanced search and filtering options, accessibility improvements, modern result lists, and greater citing and sharing options.
This page overviews those changes and provides links to further documentation from EBSCO. If you have questions about navigating the new interface, please reach out to the Libraries' Subject Teams.
If you already have a MyEBSCO account, you will use the same login credentials you used to log into EBSCOhost Classic. You do not have to have a MyEBSCO account to use EBSCOhost databases.
If you are a MyEBSCO folder user, only your main folder will transition to the new UI. Any subfolders you create will not transfer at this time. Your main folder will be under Projects in the new UI. EBSCO is implementing an option to access and transfer your custom folders from the Classic UI in April 2025. If you have any questions about MyEBSCO folders, or if you need access to your custom folders before this is available, email library.collections@wwu.edu.
Most saved searches will transfer to the new UI, but alerts will need to be recreated. Contact library.collections@wwu.edu with any questions.
More information about the transfer of MyEBSCO features can be found here.
