MACS 310: Marine Science and Society

This course guide includes curated resources to help you with the library research you need to do as part of MACS 310. 

• If you need inspiration to help you choose a scientist, group, or marine science impact to focus on, take a look at these selected sources. You can access all of the electronic resources (such as e-books and journal articles) by entering your WWU login credentials when prompted. Call numbers are included for physical books. If you encounter any issues accessing materials, please reach out and let us know.
• Once you have an idea for either assignment, you're ready to start searching for sources and refining your focus. Using the library's search tools will give you access to paywalled academic works and you can use filters within these tools to limit search results to those that are peer-reviewed.
• In this course, you need to cite all of your sources using the APA 7 citation style. The Western Libraries have a lot of resources on using APA, so please know that you can get support on our website or by reaching out.
