Pacific Northwest Fungi Database (WSU)This database is intended primarily as a tool for researchers, teachers, and students interested in fungi occurring in the Pacific Northwest. The database originally was based on information compiled by Professor C. Gardner Shaw of the Department of Plant Pathology at Washington State University over many years and published in his Host Fungus Index for the Pacific Northwest (referred to as "the Index") in 1973. A continuing effort is under way to update, expand, and correct the information in the database, but users should be aware that the information presented is only a first step toward a complete catalog of the region's fungi. The database cannot be considered of sufficient completeness or accuracy to be used to identify edible or poisonous mushrooms, to determine distributions of plant pathogens, or for any other activity that requires complete, up-to-date, or absolutely accurate information.
