Evaluating Sources: Who wrote this source?

How Important Is My Work to Others? Consider reposting strategies when looking at your source so that if you do use it, its purpose lasts. A few pro tips:

  • Link to the original content. Blogs, videos and even entire websites can be reorganized or taken down. Is the source talking about an old image, document, or article? Try to track down the original, primary source (e.g. the original photograph, study, data).
  • Does the source contribute to the conversation? Check for reposts. Reposts don’t add much to the conversation.

Consider the human who will read your work and re-read it with them in mind. The easier you can make that process for them using sources, the better. Click through the images below for other strategies.
