This collection includes textual materials that document the structural development of the Bellingham Bay region and the gold mining industry in the Ruby Creek District of Mt. Baker. The materials relating to Ruby Creek gold mining help to document the transformation of small claim placer mining to large scale consolidated-claims gold mining. It includes correspondence and administrative information.

Includes legal documents and papers related to various mines and mining businesses in the area as well as photographs relating to the mining industry.

These records include surveys, reports, photographs, and other documentation about the Lone Jack Mine on Mount Baker. Most material dates from the 1950's to 1970's when Robert J. Cole was the lessee of the property. Also included are materials from Cole's other mining ventures.

The Les Hanvey mining records primarily document the operations of Highland Chrome, Inc. and other mining companies owned and proprieted by Les Hanvey and his brother, Forest. Records include financial statements, stock certificates, receipts, legal documents, reports on claims, correspondence, newspaper clippings and other publications, maps, and photographs.

These photographs are part of the Percival R. Jeffcott Papers. There are some photographs in the collection which document mining activity in the Bellingham area including Lone Jack Mine and the Mount Baker Mining District. They can be accessed through the Center for Pacific Northwest Studies photograph catalog.

The records of the Royal Development Company document the use of material and labor at the Royal Development Company's Trinity Mine in Washinton's Chiwawa mining district. The records reflect an emphasis on the day-to-day operations of the mine and include numerous maps and plans regarding the mine and the surrounding area.

Two small collections of photographs and negatives. One assembled by Elmer Smith, the other focuses on the Gargett Mine, also known as the Gold Run Mine.
